St John with St Augustine C of E Primary School in Accrington sustained significant damage in July 2019 following a lead theft to the infant’s building. As the school’s building consultants CCO assisted the school in a number of key areas including; preparing a feasibility study exploring the options available for refurbishment/replacing the building, arranging rental of temporary classroom buildings & SCA bid to the Local Authority.
Following successfully securing SCA funding for the refurbishment of the building CCO provided building surveying and full project management services for the project. The works included pitched and flat roof repairs, window & door replacement, new internal finishes, complete redecoration works, M&E refurbishment & toilet refurbishment.
The total refurbishment of the infant’s building has not only addressed the damage caused to the building externally and internally as a consequence of the lead theft but has also completely transformed the building which dates back to the early 20th Century into a modern teaching environment.
