St Barnabas & St Pauls is a popular and successful primary school located in a residential area of Blackburn and demand for places at the school is high. The school first approached CCO in 2012 to explore the options available to address the capacity constraints and shortfalls within the existing teaching accommodation.

After first evaluating the school’s existing accommodation against recommended area guidelines, it became clear that further classrooms were required to provide much needed additional teaching space. CCO successfully secured basic need funding from the Local Authority to provide additional teaching space through the construction of a new standalone classroom building, which was completed in 2013.

A vibrant grey and lime green colour scheme was used to clad the new building with generous glazing used throughout. Comprising of four additional classrooms, offices, group room and toilet facilities spread over two storeys the contemporary new building provides essential teaching accommodation for pupils and staff at the school.
