CCO was appointed lead architect and project manager for the refurbishment of two vacant terrace properties located at the centre of Bamber Bridge in Preston. The brief was to create an open-plan commercial space on the ground floor and two one-bedroom residential flats on the first floor.

The works involved a complete external and internal building refurbishment. The existing roof structure was replaced, and structural alterations were carried out to provide an open-plan ground floor commercial space. New anthracite polyester powder coated double glazed aluminium shop frontage was installed to provide a contemporary look alongside repairs to the existing render finishes.

Upstairs the existing vacant former shop storeroom and flat were transformed to create two separate one-bedroom flats. Both flats were extensively refurbished including the installation of new kitchens and bathrooms, plastering , flooring, and decoration etc.

The refurbishment works have now brought this previously vacant building back into use with new tenants anticipated to move in and lease both the commercial space and flats in early 2024.
